Iowa High School Basketball - Solon holds off Vinton-Shellsburg

In Tuesday's non-league contest, the visiting Solon Spartans basketball team scored a close 62-58 triumph over the Vinton-Shellsburg Vikings.
The Spartans (14-6) will now prepare for their contest against West Branch (West Branch, IA). The Bears go into the non-league contest with a 10-11 record. In their last contest, West Branch nipped Tipton (Tipton, IA), 58-56, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Vikings confront the Williamsburg Raiders (Williamsburg, IA) in a WAMAC - West contest, on Tuesday, February 18. Vinton-Shellsburg will attempt to better on its 10-12 season record. The Raiders go into the contest with a 10-11 record after their 66-56 league win over Independence (Independence, IA).
