Gallup Bengals (Gallup, NM) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Laguna Acoma Hawks (New Laguna, NM), 68-30 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gallup upgrades its record to 20-2 on the season. The Bengals host Shiprock (Shiprock, NM) to play the Chieftains in a 4A District 1 bout on Tuesday, February 15. The Chieftains go into the bout with a record of 6-18. Shiprock won 40-19 in their recent league bout against Aztec (Aztec, NM)

Next up, the Hawks play the Albuquerque Academy Chargers (Albuquerque, NM) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 14. Laguna Acoma will attempt to upgrade on its 13-4 season record. The Chargers go into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 57-28 league loss to Bernalillo (Bernalillo, NM).
