The Mantachie Mustangs (Mantachie, MS) softball routed the host South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS), 8-0 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Mustangs (1-0) will now prepare for their bout against West Union (Myrtle, MS). The Eagles go into the non-league bout with a 0-1 record. In their last bout, West Union was routed by Tupelo (Tupelo, MS), 19-3, in a non-league bout.
