Whitefield Academy Lions (Kansas City, MO) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Independence Home School Lions (Lawrence, KS), 71-64 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Whitefield Academy upgrades its record to 11-3 on the campaign. The Lions host Cornerstone Family (Topeka, KS) to play the Saints in a Midwest Christian bout on Tuesday, February 13. The Saints come into the bout with a record of 11-9. Cornerstone Family lost 64-40 in their recent non-league bout against Burlingame (Burlingame, KS)

Next up, the Lions play the St. Joseph Defenders Defenders (St. Joseph, MO) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 13. Independence Home School will attempt to upgrade on its 14-3 season record. The Defenders come into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 91-29 non-league loss to Faith Christian Academy (Kansas City, MO).
