South Pontotoc Cougars (Pontotoc, MS) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Northeast Lauderdale Trojans (Meridian, MS), 46-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, South Pontotoc upgrades its record to 21-5 on the season. The Cougars travel to Houston (Houston, MS) to play the Hilltoppers in a non-league bout on Friday, February 16. The Hilltoppers go into the bout with a record of 22-11. Houston won 58-49 in their recent non-league bout against Ripley (Ripley, MS)
