The Shelby Valley Wildcats (Pikeville, KY) basketball knocked off the host Phelps Hornets (Phelps, KY), 51-35 in Monday's non-league test.
The Wildcats (17-7) will now prepare for their test against Lawrence County (Louisa, KY). The Bulldogs go into the non-league test with a 15-9 record. In their last test, Lawrence County went down by Knott County Central (Hindman, KY), 43-32, in a non-league test.
The Hornets now own a 14-12 record. They play next when they travel to Jenkins for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 13. Phelps will encounter a Cavaliers squad coming off a 66-57 non-league loss to Clay County (Manchester, KY). The Cavaliers record now stands at 5-19.
