The Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks basketball team scored 45 points and limited the host Valley Central Vikings to 42 in the Goldbacks non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Goldbacks now possess a 8-7 record. They play next when they host Yonkers for a non-league game on Friday, February 14. Newburgh Free Academy will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 40-36 league win over Riverside (Yonkers, NY). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-13.

With the loss, Valley Central falls to 12-5 on the campaign. The Vikings host Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY) to play the Crusaders in a non-league game on Friday, February 14. The Crusaders go into the game with a record of 10-7. Monroe-Woodbury won 60-50 in their recent league game against Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY)
