The Monterey Plainsmen (Lubbock, TX) softball routed the visiting Dumas Demons (Dumas, TX), 8-0 in Thursday's non-league outing.

The Plainsmen now sport a 3-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Andrews for a non-league test on Friday, February 13. Monterey will clash with a Mustangs squad coming off a 10-5 non-league loss to Caprock (Amarillo, TX). The Mustangs record now stands at 1-1.

The Demons (2-1) will now prepare for their test against Frenship (Wolfforth, TX). The Tigers go into the non-league test with a 2-2 record. In their last test, Frenship prevailed over Bushland (Bushland, TX), 9-5, in a non-league test.
