Maplewood Rockets (Cortland, OH) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting St. John Fighting Herald (Ashtabula, OH), 53-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Maplewood upgrades its record to 7-12 on the season. The Rockets travel to Lordstown (Warren, OH) to play the Red Devils in a Northeastern bout on Tuesday, February 14. The Red Devils go into the bout with a record of 1-18. Lordstown lost 74-29 in their recent league bout against Bristol (Bristolville, OH)

Next up, the Fighting Herald play the Conneaut Spartans (Conneaut, OH) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 14. St. John will attempt to upgrade on its 4-16 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 5-14 record after their 81-54 non-league loss to Lakeside (Ashtabula, OH).
