Woodside Wolverines (Newport News, VA) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Lake Taylor Titans (Norfolk, VA), 2-0 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Woodside upgrades its record to 3-5 on the campaign. The Wolverines host Bethel (Hampton, VA) to play the Bruins in a Peninsula bout on Tuesday, January 3. The Bruins come into the bout with a record of 4-3. Bethel lost 53-29 in their recent non-league bout against Princess Anne (Virginia Beach, VA)

Next up, the Titans play the Manor Mustangs (Portsmouth, VA) in a Eastern bout, on Friday, January 6. Lake Taylor will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Mustangs come into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 69-47 non-league win over Lafayette (Williamsburg, VA).
