The Wayne County Cardinals (Monticello, KY) basketball nipped the visiting Lincoln County Patriots (Stanford, KY), 55-52 in Monday's non-league test.
The Cardinals (15-13) will now prepare for their test against Somerset (Somerset, KY). The Briar Jumpers go into the non-league test with a 13-10 record. In their last test, Somerset got by Campbellsville (Campbellsville, KY), 68-36, in a non-league test.
The Patriots now own a 6-11 record. They play next when they travel to Casey County for a non-league test on Friday, February 17. Lincoln County will encounter a Rebels squad coming off a 57-36 non-league loss to Taylor County (Campbellsville, KY). The Rebels record now stands at 7-14.
