The Hatton/Northwood Thunder (Northwood, ND) basketball nipped the host Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg Patriots (Mayville, ND), 71-68 in Tuesday's league test.

The Thunder (6-13) will now prepare for their test against Griggs County Central/Midkota (Cooperstown, ND). The Cougars go into the B District 4 test with a 10-9 record. In their last test, Griggs County Central/Midkota got by Midway/Minto (Inkster, ND), 63-62, in a non-league test.

The Patriots now own a 5-12 record. They play next when they travel to North Star co-op [Cando/Bisbee-Egeland] for a non-league test on Thursday, February 15. Mayville-Portland-Clifford-Galesburg will encounter a Bearcats squad coming off a 71-45 league win over St. John (St. John, ND). The Bearcats record now stands at 8-1.
