Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Illini Central Cougars (Mason City, IL), 61-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Pleasant Plains upgrades its record to 15-14 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Athens (Athens, IL) to play the Warriors in a Tomahawk bout on Friday, February 16. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 17-12. Athens lost 66-55 in their recent league bout against Olympia (Stanford, IL)

Next up, the Cougars play the Riverton Hawks (Riverton, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 16. Illini Central will attempt to upgrade on its 11-18 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 22-7 record after their 64-55 league loss to Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL).
