Pecos Panthers (Pecos, NM) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting West Las Vegas Dons (Las Vegas, NM), 44-43 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Pecos upgrades its record to 17-6 on the season. The Panthers travel to Clayton (Clayton, NM) to play the Yellowjackets in a 2A District 6 bout on Friday, February 16. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 15-8. Clayton won 44-23 in their recent league bout against Santa Rosa (Santa Rosa, NM)

Next up, the Dons play the St. Michael's Horsemen (Santa Fe, NM) in a 3A District 2 bout, on Thursday, February 15. West Las Vegas will attempt to upgrade on its 11-10 season record. The Horsemen go into the bout with a 13-6 record after their 57-48 league loss to Robertson (Las Vegas, NM).
