The crowd at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Larned Indians (Larned, KS) and the host Ellsworth Bearcats (Ellsworth, KS), observed Larned's basketball team edge Ellsworth by a score of 42-36.

The Indians (6-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Pratt (Pratt, KS). The Greenbacks come into the Central Kansas challenge with a 10-5 record. In their last challenge, Pratt was tipped by Hesston (Hesston, KS), 47-35, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Bearcats encounter the Republic County Buffaloes (Belleville, KS) in a North Central AA challenge, on Friday, February 14. Ellsworth will attempt to improve on its 7-10 season record. The Buffaloes come into the challenge with a 3-14 record after their 64-50 league loss to Lyons (Lyons, KS).
