The Verndale Pirates (Verndale, MN) basketball were winner over the visiting Menahga Braves (Menahga, MN), 69-55 in Thursday's non-league bout.
The Pirates now possess a 10-9 record. They play next when they host Nevis for a A Section 5 bout on Friday, February 14. Verndale will play a Tigers team coming off a 89-51 league win over Red Lake (Red Lake, MN). The Tigers record now stands at 22-3.
With the loss, Menahga falls to 1-22 on the campaign. The Braves host Park Rapids (Park Rapids, MN) to play the Panthers in a AA Section 8 bout on Thursday, February 20. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 9-11.
