The Gillespie Miners basketball team (Gillespie, IL), was nudged 56-53 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Staunton Bulldogs (Staunton, IL)
The Bulldogs now sport a 13-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host North Mac for a South Central battle on Thursday, February 16. Staunton will battle a Panthers team coming off a 61-56 league win over Litchfield (Litchfield, IL). The Panthers record now stands at 15-14.
The Miners (7-17) will now prepare for their battle against Vandalia (Vandalia, IL). The Vandals come into the South Central battle with a 15-15 record. In their last battle, Vandalia edged Pana (Pana, IL), 56-53, in a league battle.
