The Mt. Gilead Indians (Mt. Gilead, OH) basketball nipped the visiting Elgin Comets (Marion, OH), 38-33 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Indians (6-13) will now prepare for their test against Colonel Crawford (North Robinson, OH). The Eagles go into the non-league test with a 15-5 record. In their last test, Colonel Crawford held off Wynford (Bucyrus, OH), 48-42, in a league bout.

Next up, the Comets clash with the Hardin Northern Polar Bears (Dola, OH) in a Northwest Central bout, on Friday, February 16. Elgin will attempt to upgrade on its 3-16 season record. The Polar Bears go into the bout with a 5-15 record after their 45-39 non-league loss to Riverdale (Mt. Blanchard, OH).
