Hermantown Hawks (Hermantown, MN) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting St. Francis Fighting Saints (St. Francis, MN), 89-87 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Hermantown upgrades its record to 19-6 on the campaign. The Hawks host Hibbing (Hibbing, MN) to play the Bluejackets in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 15. The Bluejackets come into the bout with a record of 2-18. Hibbing lost 69-56 in their recent non-league bout against Marshall (Duluth, MN)

Next up, the Fighting Saints play the Monticello Magic (Monticello, MN) in a AAA Section 5 bout, on Friday, February 16. St. Francis will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Magic come into the bout with a 7-15 record after their 77-54 non-league win over Willmar (Willmar, MN).
