In Friday's league contest, the host Willow Springs Bears basketball team scored a close 55-54 triumph over the Ava Bears.
The Bears (11-8) will now prepare for their contest against Mountain Grove (Mountain Grove, MO). The Panthers go into the South Central contest with a 12-10 record. In their last contest, Mountain Grove nipped Cabool (Cabool, MO), 62-23, in a league contest.
In their next game, the Bears confront the Thayer Bobcats (Thayer, MO) in a South Central contest, on Monday, February 17. Ava will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Bobcats go into the contest with a 18-4 record after their 60-31 league win over Salem (Salem, MO).
