In Friday's non-league contest, the host Derryfield Cougars basketball team scored a good 69-59 triumph over the Hillsboro-Deering Hillcats.
In their next game, the Hillcats confront the Newport Tigers (Newport, NH) in a Division III contest, on Saturday, February 15. Hillsboro-Deering will attempt to better on its 2-15 season record. The Tigers go into the contest with a 14-6 record after their 49-33 league loss to Mascoma (Canaan, NH).
