The Mt. Pleasant Kilties (Providence, RI) basketball edged the visiting Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI), 59-52 in Friday's league bout.

The Kilties now possess a 12-11 record. They play next when they travel to Lincoln for a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 18. Mt. Pleasant will play a Lions team coming off a 71-54 league loss to Barrington (Barrington, RI). The Lions record now stands at 13-9.

With the loss, Smithfield falls to 6-16 on the campaign. The Sentinels travel to Bishop Hendricken (Warwick, RI) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Tuesday, February 18. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 17-6. Bishop Hendricken won 63-49 in their recent non-league bout against La Salle Academy (Providence, RI)
