The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Shawnee Mission South Raiders (Shawnee Mission, KS) and the visiting Lawrence Free State Firebirds (Lawrence, KS), observed Shawnee Mission South's basketball team overwhelm Lawrence Free State by a score of 61-25.

The Raiders (10-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Olathe East (Olathe, KS). The Hawks come into the Sunflower challenge with a 5-12 record. In their last challenge, Olathe East was routed by Olathe South (Olathe, KS), 61-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Firebirds encounter the Shawnee Mission East Lancers (Shawnee Mission, KS) in a Sunflower challenge, on Tuesday, February 18. Lawrence Free State will attempt to improve on its 3-14 season record. The Lancers come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 44-38 league loss to Mill Valley (Shawnee, KS).
