The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the Shawnee Mission Northwest Cougars (Shawnee Mission, KS) and the visiting Shawnee Mission West Vikings (Shawnee Mission, KS), observed Shawnee Mission Northwest's basketball team overwhelm Shawnee Mission West by a margin of 66-16.

The Cougars (9-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Olathe West (Olathe, KS). The Owls come into the Sunflower challenge with a 11-5 record. In their last challenge, Olathe West trounced Gardner-Edgerton (Gardner, KS), 60-34, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Vikings battle the Mill Valley Jaguars (Shawnee, KS) in a Sunflower challenge, on Tuesday, February 18. Shawnee Mission West will attempt to better on its 3-13 season record. The Jaguars come into the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 44-38 league win over Shawnee Mission East (Shawnee Mission, KS).
