In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Montwood Rams softball team scored a tight 11-9 win over the Alvin Yellowjackets.

The Rams (2-3) will now prepare for their match against Port Neches-Groves (Port Neches, TX). The Indians come into the non-league match with a 3-1 record. In their last match, Port Neches-Groves by Southlake Carroll (Southlake, TX), 8-7, in a non-league match.

In their next game, the Yellowjackets battle the Shadow Creek Sharks (Pearland, TX) in a 6A Region III District 22 match, on Tuesday, February 18. Alvin will attempt to better on its 4-2 season record. The Sharks come into the match with a 3-5 record after their 6-5 non-league loss to College Station (College Station, TX).
