The Sterling Raiders softball team scored 7 runs and held the visiting Iowa Colony Pioneers to 0 in the Raiders non-league win on Friday.

The Raiders now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they host Galena Park for a 5A Region III District 21 battle on Friday, February 14. Sterling will confront a Yellowjackets team coming off a 4-2 non-league loss to Coldspring-Oakhurst (Coldspring, TX). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 0-3.

With the loss, Iowa Colony moves to 2-4 on the season. The Pioneers travel to New Caney (New Caney, TX) to confront the Eagles in a non-league battle on Friday, February 14. The Eagles come into the battle with a record of 1-1. New Caney won 6-0 in their recent non-league battle against Vidor (Vidor, TX)
