The SPIRE Institute SPIRE (Geneva, OH) basketball nipped the visiting Ursuline Fighting Irish (Youngstown, OH), 70-67 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The SPIRE (7-10) will now prepare for their test against Brush (Lyndhurst, OH). The Arcs go into the non-league test with a 11-10 record. In their last test, Brush got by Lincoln West (Cleveland, OH), 88-30, in a non-league test.
The Fighting Irish now own a 19-2 record. They play next when they travel to Bristol for a non-league test on Friday, February 17. Ursuline will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 68-48 league loss to Pymatuning Valley (Andover, OH). The Panthers record now stands at 13-8.
