Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bluegrass United Bluehawks (Lexington, KY), 75-61 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Powell County upgrades its record to 13-13 on the season. The Pirates host Model (Richmond, KY) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 17. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 10-17. Model lost 60-56 in their recent non-league bout against Middlesboro (Middlesboro, KY)
