Wausau West Warriors (Wausau, WI) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Lakeland Thunderbirds (Minocqua, WI), 57-42 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Wausau West upgrades its record to 14-8 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Marshfield (Marshfield, WI) to play the Tigers in a Wisconsin Valley bout on Friday, February 16. The Tigers come into the bout with a record of 20-2. Marshfield won 54-45 in their recent league bout against Stevens Point (Stevens Point, WI)

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Ashland Oredockers (Ashland, WI) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 20. Lakeland will attempt to upgrade on its 12-9 season record. The Oredockers come into the bout with a 7-14 record after their 55-47 league loss to Barron (Barron, WI).
