Thornton Fractional North Meteors (Calumet City, IL) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Shepard Astros (Palos Heights, IL), 60-49 in a league bout.

With the win, Thornton Fractional North upgrades its record to 14-10 on the season.

Next up, the Astros clash with the Thornwood Thunderbirds (South Holland, IL) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 19. Shepard will attempt to upgrade on its 9-22 season record. The Thunderbirds go into the bout with a 13-17 record after their 60-27 non-league win over Little Village (Chicago, IL).
