Martin County Cardinals (Inez, KY) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Pike County Central Hawks (Pikeville, KY), 60-57 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Martin County upgrades its record to 18-9 on the season. The Cardinals host Elliott County (Sandy Hook, KY) to clash with the Lions in a non-league bout on Friday, February 16. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 6-14. Elliott County lost 52-45 in their recent non-league bout against Bath County (Owingsville, KY)

Next up, the Hawks clash with the East Carter Raiders (Grayson, KY) in a non-league bout, on Saturday, February 17. Pike County Central will attempt to upgrade on its 13-11 season record. The Raiders go into the bout with a 15-12 record after their 61-36 non-league win over East Ridge (Lick Creek, KY).
