The Cougars now own a 1-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to East Central for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 17.

With the loss, Akins falls to 0-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host East Central (San Antonio, TX) to battle the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 16.
