Spectators at Thursday's non-league match between the Lutcher Bulldogs (Lutcher, LA) and the host East Ascension Spartans (Gonzales, LA), witnessed Lutcher's softball squad tip East Ascension by a count of 9-2.

The Bulldogs now sport a 1-0 record. They play next when they travel to St. Joseph's Academy for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 20. Lutcher will face a Redstickers squad coming off a 9-7 non-league win over Berwick (Berwick, LA). The Redstickers record now stands at 3-0.

With the loss, East Ascension moves to 1-1 on the season. The Spartans travel to Brusly (Brusly, LA) to face the Panthers in a non-league match on Saturday, February 17. The Panthers go into the match with a record of 1-1. Brusly lost 5-3 in their recent non-league match against Ascension Catholic (Donaldsonville, LA)
