Ridge Point Panthers (Missouri City, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Thursday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting HCYA (Houston, TX), 7-5 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 2-0 record. They take the field next when they host Fort Bend Hightower for a 6A Region III District 20 challenge on Tuesday, February 20. Ridge Point will battle a Hurricanes squad coming off a 18-1 non-league win over Hitchcock (Hitchcock, TX). The Hurricanes record now stands at 3-1.

With the loss, HCYA falls to 1-3 on the campaign. The travel to Holmes (San Antonio, TX) to battle the Huskies in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 16. The Huskies come into the game with a record of 1-1. Holmes lost 12-2 in their recent non-league game against Clear Brook (Friendswood, TX)
