South Dakota High School Basketball - Wakpala trounced by Cheyenne-Eagle Butte

February 15, 2025: Wakpala, SD 57658

Cheyenne-Eagle Butte Braves (Eagle Butte, SD) supporters left the game happy Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the host Wakpala Sioux (Wakpala, SD), 88-64 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte advances its record to 8-10 on the year. The Braves host Pine Ridge (Pine Ridge, SD) to face the Thorpes in a non-league match on Monday, February 17. The Thorpes enter the match with a record of 12-5. Pine Ridge won 69-63 in their recent non-league match against Crow Creek (Stephan, SD)

The Sioux now own a 7-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to McLaughlin for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 18. Wakpala will face a Mustangs squad coming off a 50-44 non-league loss to Winner (Winner, SD). The Mustangs record now stands at 13-4.
