Pioneer Diamondbacks (Mission, TX) supporters left the game pleased Saturday as they saw their softball squad nudge the host United South Panthers (Laredo, TX), 9-2 in a non-league game.

With the triumph, Pioneer improves its record to 5-1 on the year. The Diamondbacks travel to Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX) to play the Wolverines in a 5A Region IV District 31 game on Tuesday, February 18. The Wolverines enter the game with a record of 2-1. Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial lost 6-3 in their recent non-league game against Los Fresnos (Los Fresnos, TX)

The Panthers now hold a 1-6 record. They play next when they host Incarnate Word for a non-league game on Monday, February 17. United South will play a Shamrocks squad coming off a 18-2 non-league win over Bryan (Bryan, TX). The Shamrocks record now stands at 3-3.
