Canton C-Hawks (Canton, SD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Hanson Beavers (Alexandria, SD), 72-65 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Canton upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The C-Hawks host Vermillion (Vermillion, SD) to play the Tanagers in a A Region 4 bout on Monday, February 19. The Tanagers come into the bout with a record of 12-6. Vermillion won 63-53 in their recent non-league bout against Ponca (Ponca, NE)

Next up, the Beavers play the Mitchell Christian Golden Eagles (Mitchell, SD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 23. Hanson will attempt to upgrade on its 11-7 season record. The Golden Eagles come into the bout with a 4-15 record after their 53-41 non-league loss to Centerville (Centerville, SD).
