The Haven Wildcats (Haven, KS) basketball nipped the host Halstead Dragons (Halstead, KS), 45-38 in Friday's non-league test.

The Wildcats (13-6) will now prepare for their test against Larned (Larned, KS). The Indians go into the non-league outing with a 3-14 record. In their last outing, Larned held off Pratt (Pratt, KS), 51-30, in a non-league outing.

The Dragons now hold a 6-13 record. They play next when they travel to Smoky Valley for a Central Kansas outing on Tuesday, February 20. Halstead will clash with a Vikings squad coming off a 53-35 league loss to Hesston (Hesston, KS). The Vikings record now stands at 4-15.
