West Iron County Wykons (Iron River, MI) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the visiting L'Anse Purple Hornets (L'Anse, MI), 79-31 in a league bout.

With the victory, West Iron County upgrades its record to 2-18 on the campaign. The Wykons travel to Johnston (Bessemer, MI) to play the Speedboys in a non-league bout on Monday, February 19. The Speedboys come into the bout with a record of 7-12. Johnston lost 74-38 in their recent non-league bout against Houghton (Houghton, MI)

Next up, the Purple Hornets play the Jeffers Jets (Painesdale, MI) in a Copper Mountain - Copper County bout, on Monday, February 19. L'Anse will attempt to upgrade on its 0-17 season record. The Jets come into the bout with a 20-1 record after their 75-68 non-league win over Escanaba (Escanaba, MI).
