Mt. Vernon Mountaineers (Mt. Vernon, MO) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting McDonald County Mustangs (Anderson, MO), 58-47 in a league bout.

With the victory, Mt. Vernon upgrades its record to 11-8 on the campaign. The Mountaineers host Seneca (Seneca, MO) to play the Indians in a Big 8 bout on Thursday, February 22. The Indians come into the bout with a record of 14-8.

Next up, the Mustangs play the Parkview Vikings (Springfield, MO) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, February 29. McDonald County will attempt to upgrade on its 8-13 season record.
