The Tonganoxie Chieftains (Tonganoxie, KS) basketball nipped the visiting Paola Panthers (Paola, KS), 40-34 in Friday's non-league test.

The Chieftains (7-12) will now prepare for their test against Ottawa (Ottawa, KS). The Cyclones go into the non-league test with a 11-7 record. In their last test, Ottawa was tipped by Baldwin (Baldwin, KS), 64-62, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 0-18 record. They play next when they host Louisburg for a non-league test on Tuesday, February 20. Paola will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 52-49 non-league loss to Eudora (Eudora, KS). The Wildcats record now stands at 7-10.
