Plainfield Cardinals (Plainfield, NJ) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host North Star Academy (Newark, NJ), 44-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Plainfield upgrades its record to 17-6 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Mount St. Mary Academy (Watchung, NJ) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 17. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 13-12. Mount St. Mary Academy won 47-44 in their recent non-league bout against Paramus Catholic (Paramus, NJ)

Next up, the play the Memorial Tigers (West New York, NJ) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, February 21. North Star Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 17-7 season record. The Tigers go into the bout with a 14-9 record after their 58-14 non-league loss to Kearny (Kearny, NJ).
