Magnolia West Mustangs (Magnolia, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Grand Oaks Grizzlies (Spring, TX), 7-6 in a non-league challenge.

The Mustangs now own a 3-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Manvel for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 17. Magnolia West will battle a Mavericks squad coming off a 9-0 non-league win over Brandeis (San Antonio, TX). The Mavericks record now stands at 3-2.

With the loss, Grand Oaks falls to 1-1 on the campaign. The Grizzlies travel to Caney Creek (Conroe, TX) to battle the Panthers in a 6A Region II District 13 challenge on Tuesday, February 20. The Panthers enter the challenge with a record of 1-5. Caney Creek won 2-0 in their recent non-league challenge against Splendora (Splendora, TX)
