Kentucky High School Basketball - Greenwood can't hold off Metcalfe County

Metcalfe County Hornets (Edmonton, KY) supporters left the game satisfied Sunday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the visiting Greenwood Gators (Bowling Green, KY), 66-65 in a non-league match.

With the victory, Metcalfe County advances its record to 9-17 on the year. The Hornets travel to Somerset (Somerset, KY) to face the Briar Jumpers in a non-league match on Tuesday, February 18. The Briar Jumpers enter the match with a record of 12-11. Somerset won 71-30 in their recent non-league match against Frankfort Christian Academy (Frankfort, KY)

The Gators now own a 16-12 record. They put it on the line next when they host Monroe County for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 18. Greenwood will face a Falcons squad coming off a 73-67 non-league win over Warren East (Bowling Green, KY). The Falcons record now stands at 14-14.
