The Model Patriots (Richmond, KY) basketball felled the visiting Powell County Pirates (Stanton, KY), 67-59 in Friday's non-league test.
The Patriots (13-16) will now prepare for their test against Madison Central (Richmond, KY). The Indians go into the District 44 test with a 12-11 record. In their last test, Madison Central was beaten by Covington Catholic (Park Hills, KY), 74-52, in a non-league test.
The Pirates now own a 10-16 record. They play next when they host Owsley County for a District 56 test on Tuesday, February 21.
