In Friday's non-league battle, the host Sun Valley Magnet Pioneers soccer squad scored a close 5-1 win over the Maywood CES Wolfpack.
The Pioneers (13-2) will now prepare for their battle against Dr. Maya Angelou Community (Los Angeles, CA). The Phoenix go into the non-league battle with a 12-1 record. In their last battle, Dr. Maya Angelou Community nipped Valor Academy (Van Nuys, CA), 4-0, in a non-league battle.
