Midway Panthers (Waco, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the host Alvin Yellowjackets (Alvin, TX), 4-2 in a non-league challenge.

The Panthers now own a 4-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Clear Springs for a non-league challenge on Friday, February 17. Midway will battle a Chargers squad coming off a 4-1 non-league loss to Bridgeland (Cypress, TX). The Chargers record now stands at 0-1.

With the loss, Alvin falls to 1-2 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Clear Lake (Houston, TX) to battle the Falcons in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 18. The Falcons enter the challenge with a record of 3-2. Clear Lake lost 2-1 in their recent non-league challenge against Langham Creek (Houston, TX)
