Los Fresnos Falcons (Los Fresnos, TX) backers exited the stadium thrilled Friday as they saw their softball squad nip the visiting Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX), 6-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Falcons now own a 5-0 record. They take the field next when they travel to Roma for a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 18. Los Fresnos will battle a Gladiators squad coming off a 6-6 non-league Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial (Alamo, TX). The Gladiators record now stands at 4-5.

With the loss, Mercedes falls to 4-1 on the campaign. The Tigers host Harlingen South (Harlingen, TX) to battle the Hawks in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Tuesday, February 21. The Hawks enter the challenge with a record of 1-1.
