New Standard Academy Spartans (Flint, MI) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Lincoln-King Academy Eagles (Detroit, MI), 74-23 in a league bout.

With the win, New Standard Academy upgrades its record to 12-5 on the season. The Spartans travel to Atherton (Burton, MI) to clash with the Wolverines in a Genesee Area - Red bout on Tuesday, February 20. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 3-16. Atherton lost 59-49 in their recent non-league bout against Morrice (Morrice, MI)

Next up, the Eagles clash with the Hamtramck Cosmos (Hamtramck, MI) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 23. Lincoln-King Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-16 season record. The Cosmos go into the bout with a 13-8 record after their 58-48 non-league win over River Rouge (River Rouge, MI).
