The Weslaco East Wildcats softball team scored 19 runs and limited the visiting Austin Panthers to 0 in the Wildcats non-league triumph on Saturday.

With the triumph, Weslaco East moves its record to 2-2 on the year. The Wildcats travel to Lopez (Brownsville, TX) to play the Lobos in a 5A Region IV District 32 game on Tuesday, February 20. The Lobos come into the game with a record of 4-0. Lopez won 8-0 in their recent non-league game against Calhoun (Port Lavaca, TX)

In their next game, the Panthers play the Wimberley Texans (Wimberley, TX) in a non-league game, on Saturday, February 17. Austin will attempt to move on its 0-7 season record. The Texans come into the game with a 1-2 record after their 7-6 non-league win over Vela (Edinburg, TX).
